Garden Club News
by Barbara Castle
The Garden Club will be meeting on August 19 (the 3rd Monday) at 1:00pm. Plans are to visit a nursery or garden somewhere locally, TBA when we have more information. Check the GARDEN CLIPBOARD for INFO and details on what’s happening. If the front desk volunteers are available perhaps they could check for postings on upcoming events.
Until next gathering, KEEP COOL and we hope to see you soon.
If you have a special place or garden-related idea you’d like to share, PLEASE call Barbara (503-375-7723) or Sandy (503-851-8250).
Monday Afternoon Crafters
by Arlene Williams
Our friend and knitter, Alice Wells, likes to try different patterns. She’s made scarves, shawls, slippers, and socks, but is always wanting to try something different. Her last project was to knit squares of compatible colors and then crochet them together to create a lap robe. The only problem, she didn’t know how to crochet. No problem, there are lots of crocheters in our group who were very willing to teach her how to stitch the squares together.
Nearly every week we welcome new members. We enjoy meeting new people and their skills. We donated our creations to two new recipients this month.
We meet every Monday from 1:00 to 3:00. We have yarn, needles, hooks, and patterns.
